Simon Says Stamp and Show Your Distressed/Sanded Projects!

A new week means a whole new challenge ... this week the challenge is
Simon Says Stamp and Show your Distressed/Sanded projects! So if you would like to join in this week ... Interpret the theme as you choose then come back here and link up so we can all see what you made! The challenge will close next Sunday at Midnight ... before you get started ... these are the designs that the team here came up with ...
Kim recently purchased the fantastic I-top Brad Maker from Simon Says Stamp and couldn't wait to incorporate it into her project! Here she has stamped some Basic Grey Manila papers with a  Wendy vecchi spider. She created her fabulous brad and added Distress Inks on the edges! Kim says "The sanding bit isn't immediately obvious... the tag is from Wendy's ticket to art which I have stamped onto grungepaper with black archival I then inked all over with Distress Inks! I then scrunched it and enhanced the creases by sanding them! I've distressed the edges of my card and some of the patterned papers too."

Lori has used Salvage Stickers this week, some Idea-ology, some grungeboard, paint and molding paste, stamps, Ten Seconds Studio metal and molds, some found objects, and altered this dollar store canvas beautifully.
I have distressed the edges of my tags using Tim's Tonic Edge Distresser  ... The Distress Inks I have used are Rusty Hinge; Wild Honey and Forest Moss. The stamps are an assortment from Wendy Vecchi and Tim Holtz.

Linda loves the autumn. She says It's her favourite crafting season too. She has used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to color the leaves and the canvas sunflowers. The clock and calendar were cut from paper in the Lost and Found pack. She embossed alumnium foil with Cracked Texture Fade and dripped Adirondack Alcohol inks on it. A sheet of card stock was embossed with the Collage Texture Fade, sanded and ink distressed with Vintage Photo. Tim Holtz Game spinners became clock hands and it was topped off with a fabulous Tim Holtz Ornate Plate.

You've heard of a jack-o-lantern? Here's a box-o-tags! Dan used mostly Tim Holtz and Inkadinkado Halloween stamps, in conjunction with Bundled Sage, Dusty Concord and Wild Honey distress ink pads and an Archival black ink pad. Dan says "Given the nature of the theme, he used a Tim Holtz sanding block to sand the edges of everything in sight :0)"

Nancy has used Sky Blue paint, stamped a piece of canvas with Adirondack Espresso Paint Dabber, grunged some Jenni Bowlin and 7 Gypsies papers and painted a Grungeboard frame with more Sky Blue paint to create this fabulous wallet folder.

Terry used Tim Holz Distres inks in Vintage Photo , Brushed Corduroy, Rusty Hinge and Fired Brick to create her lovely project.

Lynne used her Tim Holtz Sanding Block; some  Retro Grunge, Vintage lace, flowers, Tattered Angel Glimmer Chips, Olive Vine and Pine Cone Glimmer Mist together with lots of other bits and bobs to make her pretty project.

The base of Nancy's project is a piece of wood that measures 2.5" x 3.5", sanded with a Tim Holtz Sanding Block  then stained with Pitch Black Dabbers. Background papers are applied after using the Tonic Edge Distresser  on each. The six sides of the ATC are then decorated with Crafty Secrets Double Sided Creative Scraps.

Katie said this about her gorgeous picket fence "After LOTS of layers and crackling... eventually this mini album was born. I kept it quite simple and embellished it with lots of flowers and a Tim Holtz Word Stick. I used the new Prima Annalee, distressed with Brushed Cordoroy Distress Inkfor my photo mats."

So now it's over to you ... The Design Team are looking forward to seeing your interpretations! This week's wonderful prize donated by our wonderful site sponsor Simon Says Stamp is a $25 gift voucher!

The prize will go to a random entry chosen by the In links Random Generator. Simon Says Stamp and Show your Grunge!

Well guys ... What a fabulous blog hop that was! So many of you joining in and so much fabulous holiday loveliness from you all!
So ... Here we are ... challenge time again and this week's challenge is Simon Says Stamp and Show your Grunge! Now Grunge means many things to many people ... so interpret the theme as you choose then come back here and link up so we can all see what you made! The challenge will close next Sunday at Midnight and without further ado ... this is the Grunginess the Design Team came up with ...
Katie describes herself as "generally a very flowery and girly vintage person". She finds Grunge a little darker than she is used to! I think she has done a fabulous job with Tim Holtz Retro Grunge papers; Bundled Sage and Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks; Prima and Tim Holtz stamps; film ribbon; Texture Fades; lots of Glossy Accents and a Prima Flower to make her tag.
Kim's Grunge is all about the Grungepaper ... She LOVES the stuff!!! She says she has been eager to try Tim's Rusted Enamel from His Compendium of Curiosities book since forever! Once she had cut the pieces from grunge paper she went straight in with the technique before adhering the star together! She thought this could look good on a boy's bedroom wall which then this led her to making something more dimensional and she decided to make these adorable vintage inspired booties! She has coloured the booties with Distress Inks and she has used a texture fades folder on the soles... simply beautiful!
Lori used the Lost and Found paper stack as her inspiration for this week's theme. She says "Of course, when I see the word GRUNGE, I automatically think of Grungeboard and Grungepaper." I LOVE how she used the bottle cap themed paper from the Lost and Found paper stack to cover the tag, then ran it through the Collage and Notebook Texture Fades, and inked over the raised areas with Vintage Photo distress ink. She has used the Gadget Gears and Hardware Findings dies to cut some Grungeboard, and treated the pieces with Distress Embossing powder to give it that Grungey look. She says "I was going for something that looks like it fell out of the little boys pocket in the photo! Grunge-y and well used!"
For those of you that know me ... you know I LOVE Grunge ... I also LOVE all things Tim ... so I played with both this week ... Lot's of Grungepaper to make the roses and Lots of  Tim's Lost and Found paper stack with some Idea-ology Corners and an Ornate plate thrown in for good measure! You are forgiven if you don't recognise the alphabet ... because it is indeed the latest Upon-a-time alterations die and I can't move on without mentioning those adorable Rose leaves ... a stamp ... from THE Wendy Vecchi!
Linda's grunge style is very distressed and weathered, usually using a vintage image. She says she loves using Tim Holtz products for her distressing. Here she used lots of Vintage Photo distress ink, including a spritzing with a mixture of the reinker, water and Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls. She also used Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Power which gives a wonderful rusty metal look.
Dan said he's had Grungepaper for ages and was so glad to finally get to use it for his fabulous circus awning! Among the products he used were Grungepaper; Distress Inks; Archival Ink; memo pins and Tim Holtz stamps.
Nancy loves creating "with vintage in mind, then, using Tim Holtz' Distress Inks, taking it up (or is that down? *lol*) another notch to grungey-ness". She wanted to make a birthday tag So she started with a large size manila tag. The tag (and some of the papers) are colored with Claudine Hellmuth's Yellow Pastel, the frame's colored with Distress Ink and Melissa Frances Mica Flakes. Almost everything is inked with Brushed Corduroy - love the colour effect!
Terry has used some beautiful papers from Graphic 45, Le Romantic, Vintage Love .  Don't you just LOVE that paper! As well as the Tim Holz Sizzix Fanciful Flight Alterations Die ... She also used a  Martha Stewart punch to create this stunning purse.
Lynne F
Lynne says "I learned a very important lesson... always apply Gesso to an untreated wood surface if you want your paint to stick". Lynne admits she did n't and parts of the Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint peeled off... but it definitely created a rather interesting effect. She colored the White Prima Flowers with Distress Inks. She used cardboard and Tim Holtz Hardware Die to cut the hinges and keyhole. Lynne's Grungey artwork was a present for her hubby to celebrate their 19 Wedding Anniversary ... So Happy Anniversary to them both!
Nancy has been wanting to create a Grungepaper journal for a while and this challenge was the catalyst! The cover is made with Grungepaper inked with Distress Vintage Photo, Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain then finished with Claudine Hellmuth's Matte Medium. A few of the Idea-ology trinkets  finish it off beautifully!
So now it's over to you ... to do something Grunge-y! The Design Team are looking forward to seeing your interpretations! This week's wonderful prize donated by our wonderful site sponsor Simon Says Stamp is a $25 gift voucher!

The prize will go to a random entry chosen by the In links Random Generator.
