Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Stripes!

Hello everyone! Thank you for playing along with last week's Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... Some Stripes! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create something that ties in with our theme ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
Tracy is definitely in the mood for Christmas, highlighted by this weeks DT piece, a Christmas accordion card. The striped background has been created using the background stamp from Wendy's Art Fit For A Queen. Both sides have been decorated using Wendy's The Art Of Making It Merry, Tim's Season's Silhouettes, Christmas Miracle, Reindeer Flight, along with the Carved Ornaments and Pine Tree dies.
For her "Stripes" project, Candy decided to do a little mini book and tutorial. She used Graphic 45's beautiful (now retired but still available through Simon Says Stamp) Botanicabella papers. Grab your Platinum Stickles, Crackle Accents, Glossy Accents, Tim Holtz Film Strip Ribbon, Gathered Twigs and other assorted Distress Inks and create this fun mini book.
Whatever you are... Well, rather Girly today and why not! Sarah decided to go full out with bright colours and butterflies. She made a shadow box from scrap card and covered it in floral and striped Glitz Papers. She stamped and cut Wendy butterflies, using the reverse side colouring them with Stormy Sky, Rusty Hinge and Bundled Sage Distress inks. She added typed words, distressed flowers and a Glitz Afternoon Muse sentiment.
Ellen Vargo
Ellen put a little twist on the stripes theme by using "strips" of paper as the background for her tag. She started with Basic Grey's Out of Print paper, added some seasonal distress inks, Tim Holtz stamps, mini rosettes, idea-ology, and some 7 Gypsies metal corners to finish off this cute tag!

Lynne Forsythe
Lynne has been overcome with "ALL THINGS FALL" as the leaves are just bursting with color on the trees in her neck of the woods. Which brought her to this weeks challenge "Stripes". She pulled out a kraft bag and let the inking begin with the Gathered Twigs Limited Edition Distress Ink. Then she pulled out some Canvas Stickers, Kraft Core cardstock and the Autumn Gatherings die to embellish her bag. And what gift bag would be complete without a Tag??? Using the Mini Tattered Leaves dieTim's Tag Die, a piece of striped paper....the tag was created. And there you have it...a beautiful Fall Goooodie Bag!!

This is one of Nancy's favorite challenges as she loves stripes! For this she created a card using 7 Gypsies 6x6 Lille paper for the background. To the front she added Graphic 45 On The Boardwalk black and cream stripe mixed with a tag put through one of Tim's Notebook Texture Fades for more stripe action. Additional ephemera from On The Boardwalk was used to decorate the card front.

Stripes let Terry think about Christmas, presents around the Christmas tree and stockings on the chimney, so she made a Christmas card, inked it all up with Vintage Photo and Aged Mahogany. She used the papers from Christmas Past from the fabulous Graphic 45 paperpad. She worked on some wings from the Simply Wings Art Parts from The Wendy Vecchi with Glossy and Distress Crackle Paint and did the same on the small images from Christmas Past and heatembossed the Sentiment from The Tim 's Odds and Ends. The little snowflakes were punched with the McGill Starburst punch.
Dan made co-ordinating placecards and napkin rings for a lunch party he was giving this week, and took the opportunity to tie them in to this week's "Stripes" theme!  Products he used included Archival ink pads in Coffee and Sepia, the Tiny Textures and Spills & Splatters stamp sets and a Tonic Paper Distresser.
Linda decided the stripes challenge was the perfect opportunity to make a Halloween card she has been itching to make.  With her vintage images, she matcheded up a black crinoline/tulle flower cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, a ticket from the Tim Holtz Odds and Ends set, one of Tim's Hinge Clips coated with Pitch Black Alcohol Ink and black glitter.  She also used black glitter on the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Borderabilities die cut.
For my card this week I used a Maya Road Chip base ... Fired Brick Distress Ink;  Wendy Vecchi's Art Part stamps and Dreams of Art. I had planned to doodle in my lines to make them more stripey ... but the truth is ... I got carried away with the Make Mine Mini Art butterflies and forgot ... so monotone stripes they are!
