Simon Says Stamp and Show a Kaleidoscope of Colour!

Hello Everybody! Thank you for playing along with our last Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... A Kaleidoscope of Colour! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create a project with lots of colour ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
A trio of Winged Things was the starting point for Tracy's kaleidoscope of colour pieces aptly added to vibrant backgrounds created with Faber Castell Gelatos combined with embossed backgrounds. Those vibrant colours were created from Red Yellow Gelatos with the aid of clear embossed backgrounds and a little help from Metallic Pitt Pens and gold Metallic Pencil.
Ellen did some sketching this week, using Faber-Castell PITT pens (waterproof and archival) for the sketching, and adding color and shading with Faber-Castell gelatos and Aquarelles watercolor pencils.  Both products blend beautifully with Ranger's new detail water brush, using a craft sheet as a palette.
Candy really took the Kaleidoscope of Color theme literally this week.  Her bright colors are courtesy of Dyan Reaveley's amazing Dylusions Sprays. All of the detail work on the butterfly's body and Tim Holtz' version of the Mona Lisa was done with her Faber Castell GelatosAquarrelles Watercolor Pencils and Mixed Media Sampler pencils and Pitt Pen.
Sarah created a colourful mixed media canvas inspired by nature. Her funky flowers were coloured with Faber Castell Gelatos and Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils. She used a Stampers Big Brush Pen to draw and colour her leaves, Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints to create her background and finished off with machine and hand-stitching.
Lynne Forsythe
Lynne began this weeks challenge by running a Gold Gelato around the edge of a Canvas Corp Canvas and then brushed on Carmel Glitter Glam. She then stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink, a flower 3 times on a piece of canvas and colored the images with the Yellow, Pink, Gold and Red Gelatos and spritzed with water.  Using a Green Big Brush Pen, she drew the stem and leaves on more canvas and used Green and Gold Gelatos to color in.

A little something from The Tim, a little something from The Wendy and lots of Terry are all in the altered cover of her photo-album. As promised Terry made a little something for her colleague's sister. She used the stamp set from The Wendy Vecchi, worked with Gelatos on the Tulips placing a Rosette on top. The Butterflies are by The Tim Holtz and on top yes,  Gelatos, with a bit of crackle rock candy, which she could not resist.
Dan
Dan's "fly south for the winter" card was started by applying Faber-Castell gelatos direct to card and then blending them with water.  The torn strip is from the Destinations paper stack and he used the Floral Tattoo stamp set and Big Brush Stampers Pens in red and blue for the birds and floral border.  Finally, compasses from the Salvage Stickers pad were antiqued with Chocolate Gelato and fixed in place.
Linda Elbourne
The Faber-Castell Gelatos are so easy to use I decided to keep my project quite simple this week! I used the Yellow and Neutral Mix and Match sets to colour my mini canvas. The flowers are Tim Holtz Tattered Florals; the letters are Alpha Parts and all the stamps are from the Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 Botanical Art plate.

Simon Says Stamp and Show your favourite Word!

Hello Everybody! Thank you for playing along with our last Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... A Word! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create a project with a word ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
Lynne Forsythe

Lynne has ALWAYS wanted to create a chunky ATC and she finally made one!! She covered the wood with lots of Multi Medium, Tissue Wrap and Gesso. Spritzed on little homemade mist, Weathered Wood Reinker and a mixture of Perfect Pearls. To finish the ATC off, she dipped a flower and leaf into Beeswax melted in a Melting Pot.

Tracy Evans
One of Tracy's favourite words of the minute is IMAGINE highlighted here with the use of the IMAGINE die which inspired Tracy's decorated book cover. The image from Winged Things 1 gave Tracy the perfect image to use in her imaginitive piece. Wings from the Regal Adornments along with a metal Word Band added to the overall piece.
Candy has created this 6x6 chipboard faux tile frame in honor of her favorite word "FAMILY".  A dimensional filmstrip complete with "reels", a Mini Cabinet Card and Tim Holtz' Family die cut create an unmistakeable nostalgic feel.  The faux tile was achieved using molding paste and White Gesso.  The rich colors courtesy of Toad Hall, Snowflake, Old Gold Paper Artsy Fresco Paints and Queens Gold Embossing Powder.
Sarah's word and mood are both Botanical! She created a pair of tags with a faux batik crackled background using Wild Honey Distress Stain, Distress inks, Paper Artsy's great Hot Pick 1203 stamps. and Ranger Archival Inks

Dan's favourite word is "home", and he's celebrated that by decorating this house blank.  It was covered with papers from the Destinations and Lost and Found card stacks and decorated with fragments and a word key.  Finally Dan added the word "home" to the roof of his house, colouring the grungeboard letters with Distress markers and stamping with the Road Trip stamp set.
Terry's favourite word  is "LIFE". She used the Papillon set from The Tim Holtz as a backgroundfor her tri-fold card. Everything was stamped using Vintage Photo and Aged Mahogany and worked on with crackle accents and Distress crackle paint. The clock is from 7 Gypsies and on top she chose Game Spinners  and Sprocket Gears
Ellen has been sketching this week, with flowers as her inspiration, so her favorite word is "bloom". She used a PITT pen for the sketching, and Faber-Castell gelatos with a water brush for the coloring and shading.  Bloom was stamped with Hero Arts lower case alphabet set.
London is my favourite word right now ... what with the Queen's jubilee and the Olympics ... what's not to like! I used my Artistic Outpost stamps with Ranger Vermillion Archival; Worn Lipstick Distress Stain and Vintage Photo Distress Ink for a more delicate twist on the usual red, white and blue ... with a bit of Tim Holtz die cutting for that personal touch!

Simon Says Stamp and Show Anything Goes!

Hello Everybody! Thank you for playing along with our last Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... Anything Goes! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create Anything! ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
An old frame was due a little transformation this week, painted with Little Black Dress Fresco Finish acrylic paint, a little Crackle Glaze and a top coat of Snowflake. A fabulous dimensional heart cut from corrugated card using the Heart Wings die adds the WOW factor.

For this week's Anything Goes challenge, Candy is sharing three ATC cards.  Using combinations of various Distress Stains, Distress Inks, Archival Inks, Perfect Pearls and Matte Multi Medium, Candy has created three distinct backgrounds for her ATC cards.  From vintage to funky, ANYTHING GOES on these ATCs!
Ellen "followed her heart" this week, using Dylusions ink sprays (fresh lime and black marble) to create a marbled background, stamping with the hearts border from the Inbetweenies set, accenting with white gelly roll pen, creating a hand-stamped sentiment, and accenting with an idea-ology heart charm and wire pin.
Ohhhhh Lynne just loves it when it's "ANYTHING GOES"! She loaded a Canvas Art Board with Multi Medium and various mediums including Canvas Corp Burlap and 7 Gypsies Collage Tissue Paper. When dry she brushed on some Gesso, then she let the misting begin. She dipped the Canvas Corp tag into puddles of mist. The journal was bound using a Bind it All!
Dan took the opportunity to try out some new stamps and distress markers for his "Road Trip" card.  Products he used included Distress Markers and Ink Pads, some Kraft Resist card stock and the Road Trip and Psychedelic Grunge stamp sets.
Sarah is really excited to see all the fabulous Paper Artsy stamps and products at Simon Says Stamp. She created three ATCs using Distress Stains, Distress Inks and the Diamonds in the Rough embossing folder to show-case the Hot Pick Stamp ranges and great matching dies.
Terry created a Welcome Tag for a new colleague at her work to make her feel welcome. She used the Postcard & Sheet Music embossing folder on the background, covered it with Crackle Accents and used Weathered Wood as the main color. Vintage Photo was used for the borders and of course the Rosette's could not be missed. To finish she placed the Game Spinners and  Sprocket Gear on top.
I had a ball this week creating the background for my tag with a Snow Cap Dabber and Dylusions Spray Inks in Cut Grass; Vibrant Turquoise; Fresh Lime and Lemon Zest! The stamps I used were Bits of This; Say What you Mean and Basic Backgrounds! I also used my Pro Markers! Such Fun!

Simon Says Stamp and Show a Lord Tim Technique!

Hello Everybody! Thank you for playing along with our last Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... A Lord Tim Technique! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create something using a Tim Holtz Technique! ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
Tracy is on her adventures again this week, this time in a HOT AIR BALLOON using not one but four of Tim's techniques; rusted enamel, chipped enamel, altered metal with paint and dimensional collage fragments.  With a little help from Tim's Remnants set, London Underground and Odds and Ends set. Throw into the mix plenty of Nostalgic Tissue Tape and butterscotch Color Wash and we are ready for take off!

Gloss Paper, randomly stamped images from Ultimate Grunge and Basic Backgrounds and Vermillion, Monarch Orange and Aquamarine Archival Inks all work together to create this Tim Holtz Archival Ink Resist Technique background.  Candy's steampunk tag features a funky winged clock and a magical Remnants hot air balloon ride.
Color Wash infused fabrics, paint, Archival and Distress Inks were the Tim ingredients Sarah used to create her mixed media cards. She used Tim's new stamps of the same name along with Good Thoughts, Urban Chic and Mini Ornates
Lynne used a form of the Wrinkle Free Distress but with a twist. She substituted various Dylusion Inks, Bubblegum Pink, Squeezed Orange, Vibrant Turquoise, Fresh Lime and added a splash of Sunflower Sparkle PP. Using the Sewing Room Die, she created her mannequin fairy, adorning her with wings from Grungeboard Elements, spritz with ink and finished off with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.
Terry used the Embossing Technique with the Springtime Background and Borders Set. On top she played with Distress Stains and Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence, Tarnished Brass, Antique Bronze and Brushed Pewter. The butterflies are from the Movers and Shapers Mini Butterfly set decorated with Distress Stains and Crackle Accents. To finish her tag she used the Rosette, a Sprocket Gear and last but not least, she added a Wordstick from The Tim.
Ellen used the marbled distress stain background and stamping with picket fence stain techniques to create her tag this week.  She used stamps from Tim's Papillon, Haberdashery, and Little Labels sets for the background, and the sentiment from the Stuff to Say set, accenting with embellishments from Tim Holtz, 7 Gypsies, and some vintage lace and buttons.
Dan's niece asked him to make a gift box for a necklace she'd made for her mum, something "gentle and a bit floral".  These aren't two of Dan's strong points, but pale spring colours and Tim's Wrinkle-Free Distress technique came to the rescue!  Products he used included Distress ink pads, Distress stains, Color Wash sprays and the Floral Tattoo stamp set.
I used Tim's Blended Batik technique on the new Ranger Speciality Stamping Paper to create my card ... if you have n't tried the paper yet ... you need to ... I LOVE it! The lettering is done with Alpha Parts from both the Newsprint and Ransom sets. Embellishments include an Ornate Plate and Tissue Tape.

Simon Says Stamp and Show Inspiration Studio 490!

Hello again everyone! Thank you for playing along with last week's challenge ... the winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week!

Before I set out the details for this week's challenge I have some sad news to share with you all. After spending the most amazing couple of years on the Design Team with Nancy ... we have to say goodbye. Nancy is leaving us to spend more time on other things ... we are going to miss her ... a lot ... and I am sad to say that this week will be the last time we will get to see her amazing creations here on the challenge blog. Of course you can still check out her wonderful art on her own blog. I am sure you will all join me, the Design Team and the entire Simon Says Stamp family by saying a huge THANK YOU and wishing Nancy the best of everything in all that she does! We are soooooo gonna miss you girlfriend!

This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... Some Inspiration Studio 490! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create something with any of the Studio 490 range of Stamps and Art Parts ... or take inspiration from the great Wendy Vecchi herself and try out one of her amazing techniques ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
It had to be Art Parts Five Panel Frames for Tracy this week, more space to get a little creative and adventurous with everything Studio 490. Steampunk is a favourite for Tracy showcased in this decorative piece covered with Tim's Tissue Wrap Terminology and adorned with lots of Studio 490 in the form of Art Parts For The Guys; Art Parts Scallop Trim and Steampunk Gears and More.
Candy loves Studio 490 and Wendy Vecchi's incredible Stamps!  So she incorporated thirteen of Wendy's stamp sets in this simple to make gift card holder.   Bo Bunny's 6x6 Et Cetera Paper Pack provides the perfect background papers. A dimensional flower from Wendy's Florals Art Parts graces the cover. Pictured here is the interior of this fun and versatile project.
Ellen created an Art Parts wall hanging this week, featuring the new five panel art part frame, altered with paint dabbers.  She created a distress stain background and added Studio 490 stamps and more art parts: gears, hands, flowers, queens, bird, some idea-ology and a hand-stamped sentiment.
Nancy is on a campaign to end her paper napkin notes by altering the cover of this purse size 7 Gypsies notebook.  Needing a little something-something for the cover, Nancy chose Wendy's It's Face Art and colored the image with Faber-Castell Big Brush Stampers Pens. For a wee bit of dimension, Nancy added a Studio 490 Art Parts bottle stamped with the bottle and tag image from Art Inspiration.
Lynne's project was created with tons of Studio 490 goodies, her faves being Dressforms and More, Leaves, Doorplates and Keys, all nicely stacked on a Pocket Watch. She had tons of fun coloring these goodies with Dylusions Ink, Vibrant Turquoise, Black Marble, Bubblegum Pink, Fresh Lime and Squeezed Orange and the Arts Parts took it like a charm!!!
Hand-rolled flowers, intriguing eyes, a touch of whimsy and Art Parts are just some of the wonderful Wendyness Sarah enjoys from Studio 490! She used Distress Stains, Idea-ology, oodles of Wendy stamps and findings to make a house a home...
A tag filled with Wendylicious products from Studio 490 is what Terry created. She used  Simply Wings Art Parts, a sentiment from the Love to Make Art Stampset and her background was made with The Art from The Heart stampset - all from The Wendy! What could just not be missed??? The fabby Just flutterby Butterfly of course!
Dan gained inspiration from two of the Studio 490 stamp sets, It's Face Art and It's More Flower Art.  He coloured the faces using Promarkers and Distress inks and all stamping used a Memento Black ink pad.
When I saw these Kaiser Mini Albums ... I just had to have them! I LOVE making mini books and Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 stamps are just perfect for creating a vintagey ... grungey ... flowery kind of a thang! As for Inspiration 490 ... Wendy's fabulous books are packed full of it ... you soooooo need all of them!
Please stop by The Design Team's individual blogs for more detailed pictures and further information on their work...Just click on their names! The prize will go to a random entry chosen by Random Generator. The challenge will close at Midnight Eastern time on Sunday, 8th April 2012 and the winner will be announced during the following week.
