Simon Says Stamp & Show Something From Yesteryear.

Happy Monday People ... Thank you for playing along with last week's challenge ... The winners will be announced on Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your lucky week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... Something From Yesteryear! Due to everyone being so busy with Holiday preparations this challenge will run for two weeks ... which means we will be back on Monday 3rd January 2011 with a new theme.
If you want to join in the fun over the next two weeks... all you need to do is ... create something that ties in with our theme ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! To start you on your way... take a look at some inspiration from the Design Team ...
Terry at first did not know what yesteryear meant, but with a little help from her amazing teamies she now knows...and she decided to make a very "old" decorated Christmas tree. The Christmas flower was made with the Tim Holtz Alterations Flowers Die and she made her icy flower with  Tim Holtz Distress Stickles rock candy and Glossy Accents Glue Dimensional Adhesive and shimmered with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist Dazzling Diamonds this is also used on the Christmas tree and on the sentiment. The papers that she used are from the Graphic 45 Christmas Past paper pack, everything was worked on with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The sentiment is from the Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps Odds & Ends. The image is from the Internet.
SSSTerry1

Lynne loves all things from yesteryear.......For this project she pulled out her vintage crepe paper (not the roll kind) and a tassel. To add to this vintage look she used Vintage Glass Glitter to accent her Tattered Floral flower and a she stamped a Flourish, which she traced with white glue and sprinkled on more Vintage Glass Glitter. The Bauble added just the right touch when coupled with the vintage tassel and of course a bit of Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Remember those paper chains, she created one to be used to hang the cone.
SSSLynne1

This week's challenge began with a book Nancy found at a flea market. The book was written in 1942 by Kathleen Norris and bears her initials on the front. Nancy is using it for her niece who has the same initials (K.N.) and turning it into a junque journal with lots of empty pages for her to add her own thoughts and dreams. After binding the cover with signatures, Nancy used Crafty Secrets Seasonal Calendar to decorate each month of 2011. Added tags with ribbon to each month to make it easier to pull the tags out and then to each tag added various quotes from Tim Holtz Just Thoughts and Good Thoughts. With Maya Road and 7 Gypsies envelopes, there's plenty of room for her to add what she wishes.
SSSNancyW1

When Lori hears the word "yesteryear", she thinks of vintage, aged, or things reminiscent of days gone by. For Lori, Graphic 45 always represents vintage, so that was the focus of her project this week. She used paper from Renaissance Fair, the Ornate On the Edge die, a Gold and Espresso paint dabber, and a Curio knob to turn an ordinary paper mache box into a vintage gift box!
SSSLori1

It has been a while since I have played with a canvas ... so I used some Walnut Stain; Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to age this one up. The papers are all from Tim's Lost and Found Paper Stack ... I have used Suze Weinberg's Bees Wax and several different Idea-ology embellishments to decorate finishing off with the Idea-ology Lost & Found Salvage Stickers for the lettering.

Linda loves using images from yesteryear. Here she has used a vintage Christmas angel image with Tim's Tinted Vision technique but instead of using a Fragment with it, she has used a piece of acetate die cut with the Snow Flurries On the Edge die. Ginger and Latte Adirondack alcohol inks were applied to the back of the acetate with a Adirondack Alcohol Ink Applicator tool to create an aged, stained paper look. Then the remaining alcohol ink on the applicator tool was then used on a piece of vanilla CS to create a blotchy aged look for the Believe stamp. The CS was also misted with a mixture of water, Vintage Photo reinker and Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold, as was the panel that was embossed with the Tim Holtz Notepaper Texture Fade. Both pieces of CS were also sponged with Vintage Photo ink around the edges. The white petals of the crinoline flower were cut with the Alerations Tattered Floral die. The Believe stamp is from the Tim Holtz Mini Holidays stamp set.
SSSLindaC1

Kim decided to make a vintage looking ornament, to capture the feeling of yesteryear. First she created an oval tile using images from the mini holiday stamp set, masked, coloured with copics, then completely covered with crackle accents. She used gold Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber for the edges. It was then adhered to a frame shape made from Tim's vintage shabby papers, with inked edges and adhesive stones, the very edge has a generous amount of stickles too. Kim has added a crepe paper frill to the back of the ornament. The 'merry christmas' is also from the mini holiday stamp set, inked and covered with clear embossing powder! The glittery poinsettia shrink plastic flower was created using Tattered florals die, coloured with distress inks and lots of gold stickles glitter for the centre. Finished off with a bow made from Webster's pages Holiday Trim attached using a fabulous charm clip and jump ring. The Idea-ology facet covers a stamped image and is attached to ribbon with a trinket pin.
SSSKim1

Dan was very inspired this week by the new set of 7 Gypsies "Calais" stamps he got recently. He combined them with some Tim Holtz classics, distress ink pads, a white paint dabber and a recycled box frame to produce this piece, which he says makes him think of tattoos coming to life!

Simon Says Stamp and Show a Lord Tim of Holtz Technique!

Blimey ... it's Monday again already ... Thank you so much to all of you that played along with last week's challenge ... The winners will be announced on Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your lucky week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... a Lord Tim of Holtz Technique! I know a lot of you guys that join us each week are Tim Holtz fans like us ... we thought that this challenge would be a great way of Thanking Tim for all the effort he goes to every year imparting his knowledge; inspiration ... and not forgetting a generous amount of his time ... sharing his 12 tags of Christmas. So join us in Thanking him by showing ... what we have learned along the way!
If you want to join in the fun this week ... all you need to do is ... create something that ties in with our theme ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! The challenge will close next Sunday at Midnight ... and to start you on your way... take a look at what techniques the Design Team have learned from the great man himself ....
Dan has used the embossed resist technique to decorate these cute houses he cut from white cardstock. In addition to the versamark ink pad and clear embossing powder he used, Dan used barn door and pine needles distress ink pads and white enamel accents for snow highlights. Stamps were from Tim Holtz @ Stampers Anonymous.
SSSDan1

Distressing rules where Nancy’s concerned, so it just follows that using Tim’s Distress Embossing Powders would be one of her favourite techniques! They can be tricky to use – and sometimes don’t photo so well! – but, what a great effect they create! Santa was stamped with Ranger’s Clear Embossing Ink, then coloured with Distress Embossing Powder in Antique Linen, Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo & Fired Brick. The edges of the card stock & note card are distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, then a German foil accent was added on top of the card stock layers.
SSSNancyC1

Terry has used the emboss technique to alter the heart shaped box. Distress inks to used to colour the box were Aged Mahogany, Victorian Velvet, Vintage Photo. The stamp she used for the embossed swirls is from the Christmas sentiment Odds and Ends with White embossing powder. The stars are from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology grungeboard dots elements set. The little snowflakes are punched out and worked on with Glossy Accents from Inkssentials and Glitz Stickles from Ranger. After she was finished with her project she used the Scrubbie to clean up her inky hands.
SSSTerry1

Lynne used one of the techniques Tim used on Tag #10 of the 12 Tags of Christmas. She used the Tall Pines Texture Fade and embossed (4) Clear Acrylic Covers. She used a combo of Stonewashed and Denim Alcohol Inks and inked the non~raised side (minus the trees) of the cover. When dry, she stamped Snowflakes with Snow Cap Pigment Ink. On the raised side of the cover, she used Pearl and Silver Metallic Alcohol Inks and snowflakes cut from the Winter Wonder Die. She removed any excess Metallic Alcohol Ink with Ink Blending Solution that may have been on the trees. The trees were coloured on the non raised side with Meadow Alcohol Ink and a paint brush. The final accents include applying Forest Moss and Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the raised trees. The whole luminary was then bound using the Bind It All......she thanks Tim for the inspiration!!!!
SSSLynne1

With so many technique's to choose from, Nancy says it's really difficult to choose just one. So she chose the one she uses most often - embossing. This time Nancy embossed using Distress Embossing Ink with Distress Embossing Powders to get a vintage look. The two must be used together in order to create this technique. Nancy mixed powders to get her own colour: one part Distress Frayed Burlap Embossing Powder to two parts Distress Broken China Embossing Powder. First, with the caps still on the jars, shake up the Embossing Powders to mix the crystals. Then open the caps and mix the two colours together. Stamp the image on the tag, shake the powders on (and then off) and heat set with a heat gun. Let the embossing cool, then rub your fingers over the embossed image to release some of the crystals.
SSSNancyW1

One of Lori's favourite “Tim techniques” is the Rusted Enamel technique that can be found in Tim's book, “A Compendium of Curiosities”. Her version is a little different than Tim's. She used a 4” x 4” canvas as the base of her project, and Ranger embossing powders in Gold, Copper and Verdigris. A bit of Espresso Paint Dabber was rubbed around the edges. The ornament was cut from grunge board using the Carved Ornament with the “Love” Mover and Shaper Die. Some stickers from the Seasonal Salvage Sticker pack and other holiday embellishments complete the piece.
SSSLori1

I have a hard time creating anything without a Lord Tim of Holtz technique on it somewhere ... I have learned so much from him! My card was inspired by Tim's 2010 Christmas Tag number 9 ... which I have to say is my favourite of all time! The background is Brushed Corduroy and Wild Honey swiped on a Craft Sheet and Spritzed with Heirloom Gold Glimmer Spray... Who knew Wild Honey and Brushed Corduroy would look so good together! The Rosette Die was used with Tim's paper stack and the Idea-ology charms were coloured using neat Cranberry alcohol ink ... another gem from Tim's Compendium of Curiosities.
SSSa1212
Linda wanted to try a Lord Tim technique that was new to her and went with Shabby Chic (pg. 49 Compendium of Curiosities). After cutting Grunge board with the Snow Flurries On The Edge Alterations die, products used on it include Expresso and Snow Cap Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers, Tim Holtz Mini Holidays stamp set. A flower was made out of Tissue Tape and topped with a button from the Idea-ology Accoutrements. Some Fragment Charms add the finishing touch.
SSSLindaC1

Kim used quite a few of Tim's techniques on her card, mainly inspired from his tag #3 of the 12 Tags of Christmas, used the tissue tape on grunge paper technique but instead of alcohol ink coloured the tissue tape with copic markers, it works beautifully, has a rich colour and the copic ink remains translucent. She then smudged a generous amount of distress stickles rock candy all over. But what Kim really wanted to try is the extreme masking technique... so, die cut tim's branch tree from mask sheet then turned the tree on it's side to become more of a branch. With blending tool, inked tree with distress inks and stamped script in archival black. The bird is nestled in a little christmas green flower soft. She then used Snow Cap Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber for the snow flurries. The December label is from the mini holiday stamp set, inked and distressed! The glittery felt flower was created using Tattered florals die, stickles glitter for the edges and a pearl centre.
SSSKim1

What more can we say ... We Thank you Tim!

Simon Says Stamp and Show a Holiday Greeting.

Hi there everyone ... Thank you so much to all of you that played along with last week's challenge ... The winners will be announced on Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... it could be you! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... a Holiday Greeting! We are an international challenge blog and well aware that not everybody celebrates Christmas ... so feel free to make a project to celebrate any holiday that is important to you and yours. If you want to join in the fun this week ... all you need to do is ... create something that ties in with our theme ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! The challenge will close next Sunday at Midnight ... and to start you on your way... take a look at what the Design Team has made to inspire you this week ...
Linda created a tussie mussie - a lovely way to give a holiday greeting to a friend.  She randomly stamped images from Tim Holtz's Urban Grunge set in Old Paper distress ink and then clear embossed them.  Next the entire sheet was sponged with Antique Linen distress ink.  A Scrollwork Alterations die cut plus three tiny Prima roses were used to cover where the cone was joined.  An Idea-ology Memo Pin holds the Merry Christmas ticket stamp greeting while an Idea-ology heart charm altered by coating with Adirondack Alcohol Ink Gold Mixative adorns the tail of the tussie mussie.
SSSLindaC1

Dan borrowed a technique from the screen-printing process to transform this foliage spray into a folk art poinsettia garland. The image was stamped twice in the same place, first with Barn Door distress ink. After re-inking the stamp with a Pine Needles distress ink pad, Dan used a moist baby wipe to remove the ink from the parts he wanted to show as red and then stamped again in the same position. The same technique was used on the holiday ticket. Stamp sets used were both by Tim Holtz @ Stampers Anonymous - Odds and Ends and Floral Tattoo.
SSSDan1

Nancy’s finally cut into Tim Holtz’s Seasonal Paper Pack, choosing one of the Christmas images that works with her kraft note cards. She edged the card with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, then, using a technique she learned recently, Nancy framed a piece of plain white cardstock with Embossing Ink, then applied Detail Gold embossing ink – no need to cut a piece of gold cardstock! Green cardstock was placed under those two layers, placed on the card – then a bit of floral trim was stapled onto the card with her Tiny Attacher, a velvet ribbon bow was attached- and a greeting card is ready to be mailed!
SSSNancyC1

Terry decided to make 2 candleholders (check out her blog for the other one) for Christmas, She used the fabulous papers from Graphic 45 Christmas Past Deluxe Edition. Every piece of paper was inked with Distress ink: Dusty Concord, Vintage Photo and Forest Moss. The flowers are brown and purple roses and worked on with Tattered Angels Glimmermists Dazzling Diamonds to make it real shiny. On the top and the bottom of the candleholder there are green stones from Basic Grey.
SSSTerry1

Lynne has been waiting ooooooohhhh so impatiently to create her Christmas Greeting. The inspiration for her card is a copied vintage postcard.....she then used her Tall Trees Texture Fade to emboss the face of the card, cut the Pine Tree from cardboard, inked it with Forest Moss Distress Ink and accented with Rock Candy Stickles. Do you see the Film Strip she used....what a great accent!
SSSLynne1

During the holidays, Nancy tries to create cards that are easy and stress free. That's one reason why she picked up Tim Holtz Seasonal double sided paper stash. This paper stack includes every holiday throughout the year, from January through December. In this card, Nancy simply cut-out images from the Seasonal pack and adhered them onto a piece of cardstock. To complete the look, add miscellaneous ribbon, Stickles and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Charm Clip.
SSSNancyW1

Lori used paper from the Seasonal Paper Pack, some Seasonal Salvage Stickers, and Tidings Tissue Tape to collage on a Configuration. The Merry Christmas sentiment and snowflakes stamps are from the Winter Sketchbook stamp set. Aged Mahogany Distress Embossing Powder was used to emboss the sentiment. Various holiday themed objects helped create this holiday decor!
SSSLori1

This week I have used the Seasonal Paper Pack and lots of Tim Stamps to decorate my box frame. I wanted to give the stamping a layered look so I used Coffee Archival, Black Archival and some Gold Paint Dabber. This is my all time favourite Santa Stamp ... and I am just loving the Reindeer die and the Idea-ology Facets.

Simon Says Stamp and Show... A Tag!!

Hello to you all ... Dan here, standing in for Linda E while she is teaching on far flung shores :)   Thank you so much to everyone that played along with our last challenge ... The winners will be announced on Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... it could be you! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... A Tag! If you want to join in the fun this week ... all you need to do is ... make a tag (if you need style guidance, see "About Our Challenges" in the side bar)... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! The challenge will close next Sunday at Midnight ... and to start those inky fingers... take a look at what the Design Team has made this week ...

Linda threw everything at her tag to create her background. She used Distress Inks ... Dabbers ... Rock Candy Stickles ... a mask and finished off with a few Grungepaper embellishments and some Idea-ology bits and pieces. All stamps used are Wendy Vecchi and Tim holtz.

Linda chose to make her tag in sepia tones using lots of Vintage Photo distress ink. The newspaper text background and the vintage images have been sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink. The stars were cut with a Sizzix die out of corrugated cardboard and crinoline. They were sprayed with a mixture of Vintage Photo reinker and Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls. The star brads were embossed with Antique Linen distress embossing power and a bit of the VP mixture was applied.

For Kim, tags are the best way to really experiment and try out new techinques on a smaller scale... So she created a layered tag and thinks fired brick distress ink with copper perfect pearl is STUNNING. Really effective for the perfect distress technique on the large tag and the wings on the grungepaper butterfly. The sentiment has been stamped on sticky back canvas cut using styled labels, inked with distress inks and spritzed with a little distress ink & copper perfect pearls. An extra styled labels tag was cut from the clear acrylic packaging so the butterfly would appear to float. The ball chain was added to give the ability to move  and read the sentiment. The seam binding has been spritzed with glimmer mist and tied to the top. Stamps used are Wendy Vecchi and Tim holtz.

 Dan
I've really been loving all of the vintage Christmas stamps that Tim Holtz has been bringing out lately - I guess I'm vintage enough that they remind me of childhood Christmases!  I planned to do a lot more to this tag, but when I got to this stage I was loving it so much that I felt I would ruin it by adding more, and decided to let the stamp images shine!  I used Fired Brick Distress Ink, Rock Candy Stickles and one of Tim Holtz's Santas.

After trying a few different combinations of aged, inked backgrounds, Nancy decided to use the direct-to-paper ink application technique, using Walnut Stain Distress Ink, finally achieving the tonal appearance she wanted for her vintage tag. A bit of the same ink was applied to the edges of a piece of vintage ledger paper & a piece of Basic Grey Cappella paper, then the inked areas were spritzed with water to spread the aging. “Believe” from Tim Holtz’ Mini Holidays stamp set was stamped on top of everything with Black Soot, then embossed with Ranger’s Enchanted Gold EP.
Terry decided to make a XL Christmas Tag including 2 other tags, to give to a loved one for Christmas. She used lots of distress inks from Tim Holtz, including Vintage Photo, Shabby Shutters and Aged Mahogany. The sentiment is from the Basic Grey, Wassail Christmas Collection. The faux stitching was made with an Opaque white Inkssentials pen and Glossy accents by Ranger was used on the embossed flowers that look like little snowflakes. Terry finished it all off with snowflake and flower border embossing folders. The lace with the snowballs are from her own stash. Just like the vintage image on the little tag.

Lynne's tag has a bit of a vintage flair to it...She inked her Silhouette Spray stamp with Mustard Seed and Peeled Paint Distress ink...spritzed the inked stamp with water, then stamped on her tag and paper, giving the image a "watercolor" look. The Maya Road flourish was painted with Gesso, embossed using the Collage/Notebook Texture Fade, the high points sanded then inked with Faded Jeans. If you notice....there is Distress Ink everywhere....used in both the pad and liquid form. The tag was accented with a Tim Holtz Corner.

Nancy chose the Bluebird stamp set from Artistic Outpost to use in a cross between a shabby and vintage-style tag. The background is first stamped with Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 Ticket to Art stamp then overstamped with Studio 490's Berry Tree stamp. You may visit Nancy's blog to see exactly how it was finished.

Lori decided to step out of her comfort zone and do something a little different for her tag! She used all Studio 490 stamps, and decided to go with an arty face! She used a background technique Wendy had posted on her blog HERE, using the Ranger Color Washes in Stream and Butterscotch, and Wendy's background stamp from the Dimensional Rose Art set. Adirondack Dye inks in Espresso, Stream, and Cranberry helped to finish the embellishments!

Simon Says Stamp and Show your Distress Inks!

Hello to you all ...Another week ... Another Theme ... Thank you so much to everyone that played along with our last challenge ... The winners will be announced on Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... it could be you! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... Your Distress Inks! If you want to join in the fun this week ... all you need to do is ... make something using Distress Inks... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! The challenge will close next Sunday at Midnight ... and to start those inky fingers... take a look at what the Design Team has made this week ...
Lori chose to "autumnize" a wooden bird house with leaves cut using the Tattered Leaves die. The leaves were subjected to a mixture of distress inks, then some were overstamped with the Falling Leaves stamp set. She also used a chipboard die cut from the Caged Bird die, and pumpkins from the Pumpkin Patch Texture Fade to complete the "autumnization".
SSSLori1

This week my project is a Maya Road Chipboard House which I have decorated using only white card; Grungepaper ... The Wendy Vecchi stamps and of course ... Distress Inks! I made my own stand for the house with a few pieces of corrugated card ... I have just got to decide what I am going to put inside now!

Linda's project this week is an altered picture frame. She used Fired Brick with a touch of Vintage Photo distress inks to saturate the paper for her handmade flowers which were cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. Pine Needles DI was used for the Grungeboard flourish. The corrugated cardboard was misted with Vintage Photo and Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls and the snowflakes were sponged with Vintage Photo DI then dabbed with Antique Linen Distress Stickles. Other Tim Holtz products used were Tissue Tape, a Hitch Fastener and a Swivel Clasp.
SSSLindaC1

Kim most definitely uses Distress Inks in every project! It is the base colour under the crackle effect on her little dimensional bird cage box. It is with a touch of Vintage Photo distress ink that enhances the edges of her die cut bird, cut using the new curio BasicGrey papers, her handmade flowers were cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die then sprayed with some Distress Ink Glimmer Mist. The handmade gem in the centre of the flower was created using her melting pot and UTEE powders. The branch is cut from Tim Holtz Branch die and the cage is secured at the top with a Idea-ology swivel clasp. She finished off with baubles secured with jump rings.

Dan was inspired in this challenge by a song he has listened to a lot lately. For details of what each tile represents, visit his blog! Out of all of his crafty stash, Distress Inks are probably Dan's "desert island" craft product. Items used here include a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad, distress ink pads and Tim Holtz stamps.

Nancy doesn't think any paper project is complete if it's not distressed & this birthday "gated tag" is no exception. Her go-to Vintage Photo DI was used on every piece of cardstock, patterned paper & tag used, with touches of Wild Honey & Walnut Stain. The tag in the yellow pocket was coloured with Tumbled Glass, then over-inked with (again!) Vintage Photo. The tag on the right has a phrase stamped with Faded Jeans, then highlighted with clear embossing powder.

Terry's project this week is an altered tea box, the box was coloured with Broken China, Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood and Vintage Photo. The top of the box was worked on with embossing powder to create the swirls. The flowers are from The Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die. She also used the distress inks to work on the flowers and on the edges of the flowers she used Glossy accents. The pearls, lace and sentiment are from her own stash. The papers that she used for the flowers are from The Tim Holtz Idea-ology Paper Pack Vintage Shabby and everything is sprayed with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmermist and Old Lace from Tattered Angels.

Lynne chose to create a Christmas Wreath using Poinsettias created with the Tattered Leaves die, Aged Mahogany and Forest Moss Distress Ink. She then accented the leaf/petals with Fired Brick and Peeled Paint Distress Stickles. She created a fold in the leaf/petals and stapled with Tim's Tiny Attacher. Lastly, she adhered the parts together with Claudine Hellmuths Multi Medium. For a more detailed tutorial check out her blog.

Nancy says she can't complete a project without using Distress Ink. One of the first things she inks are the cut edges of the paper, especially the white core of each paper cut. Nancy also always uses sponge applicators and a Ranger craft mat, both of which makes inking and distressing a lot easier!

With the season of busyness fast approaching, Nancy wants to get a jump start on some simple gift tags. This tag can be completed in 10 minutes with Tim Holtz Christmas stamps, tags, embossing powder and Distress Inks. The NOEL sign was coloured with Copic Markers. You can see another great example on Nancy's Blog by clicking on her name.

Using up stash makes Lori happy... no, wait... ecstatic would be the correct term. And getting to play with new stash is even better! So, Lori combined some new Art Parts, Clearly Art, Conservatory paper from 7 Gypsies and Studio 490 stamps to make this:

Playing with Grungepaper; THE Wendy Vecchi stamps; Distress Inks and Idea-ology embellishments make Linda happy ... very happy. So that is exactly what she used to alter this little chip drinks coaster ... or to those of us in the UK ... just a plain old beer mat!

What makes Linda happy is distressing. She doesn't think a project is finished unless something is ripped, torn, sanded, inked or otherwise shabbied up. She loves taking something new and making it look worn and aged. She had a great time this week making her vintage Christmas card. Some of the products and tools she used on her card are: Martha Stewart Snow Flurry Border Punch, Spellbinders Create a Flake I, Ranger Clear UTEE, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and Tim Holtz Odds and Ends stamp.

So many crafty things make Kim happy... She just couldn't fit any more onto her piece. She has been eager to create a spool with Wendy's Art Parts since she got them and has incorporated a vast selection of Wendy vecchi fabulous stamps ~ Botanical art, Alphabetically art, Nature's art, Ticket to art. She used Brilliance pigment ink moonlight white as a base to make the distress ink colours lighter, little did she know they would turn out so much paler and slightly shimmery. She then stamped patterns in both Coffee and Black archival ink. She used sticky back canvas for around the spools inked, stamped and secured with memo pin. she also added one of Tim Holtz Fanciful buttons gorgeous!!!

Trying out new techniques and having a good old play make Dan happy! Applying distress inks to bare wood and stamping on baby wipes were firsts for him in this project. Products used included Distress Ink Pads, a Black Versafine Ink Pad and a white Paint Dabber.

Learning new techniques like this Vertical Accordion card always makes Nancy happy, especially when they involve Distress Inks, Wendy Vecchi stamps and Basic Grey paper pads!

Terry sure likes to alter anything she can get her hands on....this time she altered an "old" perfume box. She has used the fabulous papers from Graphic 45 LE ROMANTIQUE 12 x 12 Paper Pack Vintage Love , the papers are worked on with Glimmermist and she used lots of roses and cherry flowers. Underneath the image she used the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Punch. All the borders are coloured using Distress inks, the colours that she used are Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge.

What makes Lynne happy...........FLOWERS...flowers....flowers!!! She used the Tattered Leaves die, fabric and Multi Medium to create this Poinsettia. To colour the fabric, she used Barn Door and Fired Brick; Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Reinker Mixtures (a dropper full of Distress Ink and water in a Mini Mister). She then accented the petals with Fire Brick and Forest Moss Distress Stickles and Tim Holtz Baubles. Now, she is REALLY happy!!
