Things with Wings!

The time has come ...
Welcome to the very first Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. This week ... the theme is Things with Wings! We want you to create a card; ATC; Scrapbook page; tag or anything crafty with your winged things! So without further ado ... let's get this challenge off to a flying start by checking out the beautiful work our talented Design Team has created to inspire you!

Nancy C
Nancy loves making tags ... she says they can be used so many ways ... as they are ... as a topper for a greeting card ... as a wall hanging ... the possibilities are endless! Don't you just love the BasicGrey Cappella Paper and PaperRelic's birds image!

Terry
This is Terry's "Cherish my friends candy jar". With lots of cherries inside and flying kisses and butterflies. This is Terry's way to say Thank you. Among other things Terry has used a Martha Stewart Punch and Whiff of Joy Stamps to create her design.
Lynne thought that a FABULOUS way to start off this challenge blog was ...With a THANK YOU!!!! to Simon Says Stamp and YOU!! I just love what she has done with Bricked and Woodgrain Texture Fades and the gorgeous Stampers Anonymous Floral Tattoo.

Being a new Challenge site Nancy wanted to create something that was reflective of this amazing opportunity. She says you can punch holes in the top and add ribbon or wire to create a door hanger, use as a card front or add to the cover of an altered journal or book. Nancy used Tim's Bigz Dies and Texture Fades to create this piece.

Katie
Katie told me that when she heard the theme had to involve wings she just had to submit a project using this fab Tim Holtz die! She made this art journal using the Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby paper stack and had a lot of fun with it!

Kim
I think we can all see how Kim interpreted the theme with her stunning design. I love the Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage papers that Kim has used and don't even get me started on Distress Inks and Wendy Vecchi Stamps!

The first thing Lori thought of when she heard the challenge theme ... was birds and butterflies ... her two most favorite themes EVER apparently! So she combined some of her fave products from Tim Holtz, Wendy Vecchi, Maya Road and Graphic 45 into a winged chiptastic piece!

Okay ... well this one was easy ... I don't do wings without Wendy Vecchi's beautiful butterfly stamps and once I had picked out a text stamp ... the rest followed from there! Lots of Ink ... Lot's of Grungepaper and Lot's of stamping ... just the way I like it :0) I used Oodles of Wendy Vecchi Stamps and lashings of Tim's Regal Crest Die ... oh and lots of Grungepaper :0)

Linda loved the idea that some of her teamies had made the first project as a thank you to all the wonderful people at Simon Says Stamp who were involved in launching this new challenge blog. She plans to hang her design in her studio to look back on and measure her growth by the end of the Design Team term. I just love the way Linda has used Tim Holtz's Idea-ology Word Keys and Game Spinners.

Dan
This clown head is one of Dan's favourite Tim Holtz stamps of all time, and he has had this halloween-y take on it kicking around in his head for a while, so he thought it was nice to get the "wings" theme which allowed him to get it out of his system! I totally love all the colours of Distress Ink that Dan used.

And now...it's your turn to do something crafty with those wings! The Design Team is very excited to see what you all come up with! Don't forget that you could win this week's wonderful prize!

The prize that has been donated by our Site Sponsor Simon Says Stamp will go to a random entry chosen by Random Generator. The challenge will close at Midnight Ohio time on Sunday 15th August 2010 and the winner will be announced during the following week. To qualify all you need to do is create a piece of work related to this theme ... post it on your blog ... with a link to this site and then pop a link below so everyone can come see what you made! And who knows ... if you don't win the prize ... the Design Team may select your work in the top three and you could be one of the very first to get our specially designed Top Three Blinkie.

Have fun everyone :0)
