Simon Says Stamp and Show a Lord Tim of Holtz Technique!

Hello Everyone! Thank you for playing along with last week's challenge ... The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... a Lord Tim of Holtz Technique! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create something that ties in with our theme ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! To start you on your way... take a look at some inspiration from the Design Team ...
Lynne Forsythe

Lynne chose to use the Dabber Resist Technique....She had just recently acquired some new goodies and just couldn't WAIT to PLAY with them!! Don't you just love how the Tim Holtz Dress Form just pops with the Distress Stains and Pearl Paint Dabber. Look how the Tim Holtz Experience stamp fits perfectly on Wendy Vecchi's Art Parts ~ Dress Forms and More. Check out her blog for more info!

Dan
Dan used Tim Holtz's Kraft Resist Card Stack to try a variant on his Blended Batik technique from A Compendium of Curiosities.  Other products used included a Configurations Box, Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and the Bitty Grunge and Artful Artifacts stamp sets.  More details on Dan's blog!

Sarah Engels-Greer
Sarah went for Tim, Tags and Techniques and indulged in lavish and vivid tones with her creations. Distress inks, Glass Fragments and Mini-Ornate Stamps came along for the journey. More photographs and details can be found on her blog.
For inspiration, Nancy turned to Compendium of Curiosities and found one of her favorite techniques on page 36, Blended Batik. After completing this technique on a Tim Holtz mini-label die, she added Graphic 45 Steampunk background paper, a Graphic 45 fairy, some miscellaneous rub-ons and finished it off with a Tim Holtz butterfly resting on a Spellbinders fancy tag die.
Nancy's been planning this Tim Holtz Configurations Shadowbox for months, as a wedding gift for her cousins. Using Grungeboard Alphabet Soup letters & Plain Shapes, she made blocks as Tim does - Ranger's Vintage Photo Distress Stain made the process go so fast!

Candy Colwell
Candy chose to mix several Tim Holtz techniques with Wendy Vecchi Art Parts to create this funky ART canvas. She used a twist on Tim's grungeblock technique to make the ART houses and then referred to Tim's Compendium of Curiosities technique, on page 41, to put a shiny "Rusted Enamel" finish on them.  Hop on over to her blog to check out all the techniques and elements she incorporated into this creative "artsy" piece!

Terry
Terry made a Once upon a Spring tag...to celebrate the Spring. She loves the Tim Holtz Distressing and Embossing Technique and made 3 different flowers from The Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die and colored with Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Forest Moss and Shabby Shutters. The butterfly is embossed with the Copper colored emboss powder. More detailed pictures are on her blog.
Kim has included a few Tim Techniques... hard not to really! This atc size note book has had the shabby chic treatment from Compendium of curiosities (pg 49) using grungeboard and Bitty grunge. The grunge key hole, corners have had the rusted metal technique. Kim used the cinch to bind and added a fragment, label and philosophy tag on a swivel clasp.
Lori decided to go with one of the basic techniques, embossed grungeboard, using the Rays Texture Fade.  Some Studio 490 stamps from Gentleman's Art, Tools for Art, and Rose Art Part 2 Idea-ology Sprockets and Gears and the Sizzix Gadget Gears die helped complete this "taste of Steampunk" hanging!
Linda's tiny triptych has two Tim Holtz techniques on its cover.  She used the Rock Candy Distress Stickles technique over the entire surface of the cover and then she altered the Tim Holtz Foliage using Tim's Altered Metal with Paint technique.  The letters were cut with Tim's Vintage Market die and misted with a solution of Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls, Vintage Photo reinker and water.  Be sure to stop by Linda's blog to see photos of the front and back panels of her spring triptych.
I got distracted by Tim's wonderful mirror project in the Compendium of Curiosities ... so I followed Tim's technique for the Fragments to make my own smaller version of the mirror. I finished off with some Idea-ology and a few The Wendy Vecchi's mini butterflies.

Please stop by The Design Team's individual blogs for more detailed pictures and further information on their work...Just click on their names!
