Tracy decided to use the Residences Art Parts for this weeks creation, perfect for our House theme. The houses have been coloured with Distress Ink Aged Mahogany, Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo and stamped with background stamps from Wendy Vecchi Be Inspired...Make Art and the Art Of Making It Merry. Embellishments include Tim's Christmas Muse Tokens, Locket Keys, Hitch Fasteners and Jump Rings.
Ellen has been wanting to do a metal piece with Tim Holtz's Artful Dwellings die for a while, and this was the perfect opportunity....she used grungeboard with Ten Seconds Studio metal, then used the artful dwellings die to cut the houses, then embossed with texture fade embossing folders, one for each house. She used embellishments from Bottle Cap Inc., Tim Holtz idea-ology, 7 Gypsies, Industrial Chic, and Ranger paint dabbers to decorate her street scene.
Terry made a card for a NEW HOME. Rusty Hinge, Forest Moss, Weathered Wood and Vintage Photo were used on the background. And on top of the card and on the roof Crackle Accents was worked with just to give it that special look. The flower is from The Wendy Vecchi Dreams of Art stampset. The hands are from 7 Gypsies Clearstamp Set just like the sentiment.
Home Sweet Home........as we all know......there's no place like HOME!! The focus of Lynne's wall hanging is the 3x3 Canvas she painted with Black Gesso. Using a Mini Brick Screen she created another layer using White Gesso. When dry she applied a wash created from Modern Red, Altered Orange and Sable Brown. She painted Art Parts with the Black Gesso and Color Combo. The background is a piece of Glassine paper, embossed, sanded and color washed.
Nancy turned to Maya Road chipboard for this *home* project. Using a Classic Label, she first covered it with Bo Bunny's Et Cetera 6x6 paper pad. After inking the edges with Vintage Photo and Juniper Adirondack, she covered a teeny house from the same Bo Bunny paper pad. Then added a Maya Road key and letters to complete this *Welcome* door hanger.
Candy created this intricate little shabby chic row house tryptich. Using Embossing Powders, Distress Inks and Stains, Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint and Tim Holtz' Ideaology Tissue Tape; she created unique backgrounds for each house. Dimensional windows with Victorian girls peering from within, delicate vines and flowers made with Flower Soft products and various Ideaology embellishments accentuate the exteriors.
Take a stroll down Configuration Lane.... Houses are often home to many memories so Sarah created a nostalgic piece to celebrate this. She aged twelve Configuration boxes with Gesso, paint and Distress Ink filling them with Ephemera, stamping and findings including a Ornate Plate photo frame, a Tattered Florals Grunge rose and buds and an Alcohol ink distressed tag on embossed metal.
Dan
Dan has designed a house for "Dexter", judging by the copious amounds of red that are splattered around! Products he used included the Rockstar, It's Face Art, Spills & Splatters and Dance Card stamp sets.
Linda CoughlinLinda created a country "home"spun type of piece for her housing project that explores the many things that a home represents to us. The houses were made from Spellbinders Label 1 die, each one stamped with a different Wendy Vecchi background stamp and topped with a gingham roof stamped with Wendy's Nature's Art set. Her tin heart was cut with a Spellbinders die, embossed with the Tim Holtz Checkerboard texture fade and colored with Ginger alcohol.
